These are advanced features; the instructions below assume you have basic knowledge of Zoom and your computer’s audio and video settings. Remember that each participant will need to adjust their settings to transmit natural sound.

Be prepared to advise other participants on how to adjust their audio settings and speaker and microphone placement for best results. Select whether you want Zoom to split up participants into rooms automatically random or if you would rather do it manually. You can also let participants choose their own breakout room requires host and participants to have Zoom version 5. Click Create. A window will appear that displays your breakout rooms.

From here, you can do the following: Add or delete rooms. Rename rooms. Move participants into and out of rooms. Recreate rooms.

Participants will be prompted to jump into their assigned breakout rooms. The host can see which guests have entered their breakout rooms from the Breakout Rooms window. This must be enabled in the scheduler’s Tufts Zoom settings. Closing Breakout Rooms The host can manually close breakout rooms at any time by clicking the Close All Rooms button in the bottom right corner of the Breakout Rooms window.

Interacting with Breakout Room Participants. From the mic menu, you can choose to join with phone audio instead or open the audio settings for more troubleshooting options. When in a meeting, the Participants button found at the bottom of the call screen will open a sidebar that lists all of the people in the call. Below is a list of all of the features available within this sidebar.

In the toolbar at the bottom of the call, there is an option to open the Chat feature. Once open, choose who you would like to message. The chat defaults to everyone.

If you would like to send an individual message, select the dropdown menu probably labeled as Everyone at the beginning and choose the participant you would like to chat with. Participants can raise their hand from the participants tab.

To switch between views, click on the View button and select an option from the dropdown menu. Next, click Device properties and test microphone to enter the device settings page. If the volume slider is greyed out, uncheck the Automatically adjust microphone volume option.

This filters out distracting ambient noises to improve your meeting experience. Despite its perceived benefits, Background Noise Suppression sometimes results in reduced microphone output and other audio problems. Go to the Zoom audio settings page and switch the Suppress background noise option from Auto to Low faint background noises. Head back to the meeting window and click the Turn on Original Sound button at the top-right corner. If you have multiple audio devices connected to your computer, click the drop-down icon next to the option and select your preferred microphone.

Launch the Windows Settings app and go to Privacy. Navigate to the App permissions section on the left sidebar and select Microphone.

You need to enable two important permissions on this page for any microphone built-in or external to work with Zoom on your computer. First, toggle on the Allow apps to access your microphone option.

Also the breakout room is closed the audio settings get reset again. Other users connect to the zoom websdk page Have some users change their audio setting in case they have multiple inputs or output devices.
